With over 150 years of experience, we manufacture a wide range of coated wires designed to meet the specific needs of each sector and market.

The complete integration of the production process across the various factories of our Celsa group —from the collection and sorting of scrap metal, its transformation into wire rod and, in our plant, the drawing and galvanizing— allows us to guarantee total traceability and exceptional quality to all our wires.

We manufacture wires from high and low carbon steel, with various coating options:

  • Standard galvanizing (Class D) according to EN 10244-2

  • Reinforced galvanizing (Class A) according to EN 10244-2

  • Super reinforced galvanized

  • Reinforced galvanizing (Class A) + ECOVER®

  • Zinc aluminum galvanizing – ZnAl® – with alloy of 95% +5% and 90% +10%

  • Galvanized + plastic extrusion coating

  • Galvanized steel painted black

Thanks to our strong presence in international markets, we also manufacture wires that comply with the specific regulations of each country, such as ASTM A116, ASTM A856, BS 10.244, among others.

Our special coatings

Ecover

The Ecover coating consists of adding a green metallic passivation based on Chromium (Cr3+) and Titanium (Ti) to a reinforced galvanized wire, with an approximate thickness of 1 to 3 µm.

Ecover gives the wire greater corrosion resistance (three times greater than reinforced galvanized wire). This low-friction coating facilitates the transformation of the wire into mesh or cords through forming.

ZnAl

Our ZnAl® coating offers high-performance corrosion protection based on a zinc-aluminum alloy. The combination of these two metals enhances the corrosion resistance of aluminum and reinforces the protective capacity of zinc, resulting in a significantly longer service life in harsh environments.

This coating is available for wires with diameters between 1.40 mm and 5.50 mm, in different alloy proportions according to the application requirements and desired performance.

Salt spray chamber tests have shown that zinc-aluminum coated wire (ZnAl) has a significantly slower corrosion rate compared to reinforced galvanized wire, even in welded areas.

Characteristics

  • The coating is more homogeneous and ductile, allowing for excellent adhesion to the wire.

  • Surface with metallic sheen.

  • It doesn’t chip easily.

  • The sheet structure of ZnAl is very well suited to profiling, deep drawing and folding processes.

What is ZnAl coating?

This video explains the characteristics of Celsa Wire’s ZnAl coating, a zinc-aluminum alloy (95% zinc and 5% aluminum).
Thanks to the ZnAl, the wire’s lifespan is up to three times longer compared to reinforced galvanizing.
